Root Canal
Modern and safe – thermoplastic root canal treatment
Even behind an outwardly healthy looking tooth, caries could be forming in the tiniest of gaps, causing inflammation and ultimately loss of the tooth. If you wish to retain such a tooth, root canal treatment is often required. In this process, the individual canals of a tooth?s root are freed from the rest of the nerve and completely cleaned. The resulting cavity must then be made airtight so that no bacteria are able to penetrate and trigger a repeat inflammation.
The safest way to seal the cavity is through a thermoplastic root filling procedure. First of all, the length of each individual canal is measured precisely using the so-called “endometric” method. Then the canals are filled with a natural substance which, when heated, pours into the smallest of cavities and quickly dries, thus effectively sealing up the tooth. Even those teeth which were once given up for lost can now be preserved for a considerable amount of time.
